I almost bypassed this little sprig of wild Daisies on a recent photo session. As I panned the area with the lens, I found myself searching for birds, squirrels, and for big and bold flowers like I normally photograph. Suddenly, a tiny burst of yellow from the center of one of these small daisies caught my attention. Using my color splash technique on the resulting photo focuses on the yellow centers, which ultimately caused me to stop and snap the shutter. And thus, "Wild Daisies" was born.

This example room photo shows the beauty of the Pearls of Wisdom series of three color splashed photos. It was actually quite entertaining for my neighbors as I made this series, since I laid face down on my driveway photographing each pearl in the shell. I imagine they were really curious about what I was doing! I chose blue and green pearls as ivory pearls just wouldn't create the effect I wanted in the final photos. And I'm super-thrilled with how these photos turned out! Each image is available on it's own, but as you can see, the series of three prints looks fabulous in a room all together.
I've been holding onto this photo for a while, unsure of what to do with it. I loved the capture of the butterfly, but the greenery behind it took away from the butterfly's beauty. When I decided to continue on with my Color Splash photo series, this photo came across my screen again and with one glance, it was clear what I should do - color splash it! I'm glad I did...it turned out fabulous!
